U.S. Independence Celebrations Late in 33-year cycle calendars

Karl Palmen

Dear Calendar People

If the USA were to use the 33-year cycle of 8 leap years as in the Dee or Dee-Cecil calendar, Independence day would have been celebrated 1 day later this year and in most other years.

Gregorian: 1776-07-04 = Dee-Cecil: 1776-07-05

Gregorian: 2017-07-05 = Dee-Cecil: 2017-07-05

This can be checked in http://the-light.com/cal/converter/ .

In 1979, it would have been celebrated 2 days later.

Gregorian: 1776-07-04 = Dee-Cecil: 1776-07-05

Gregorian: 1979-07-06 = Dee-Cecil: 1979-07-05

Other such years after 1900 would occur either 4 or 33 years before a later such year (e.g. 1975, 1946, 1942).

It would be celebrated on the same day in 2016, and before 2100, any year 4 or 33 years after an earlier such year (e.g. 2020, 2049, 2053).
