Easter Dates RE: Request for independent verification

Karl Palmen
Dear Calendar People

This year Easter is on April 1 (rather than good Friday), the first such year since 1956.
Robert Van Gent provides information at
http://www.staff.science.uu.nl/~gent0113/easter/easter_text2b.htm

I find Easter often occurs on the same day after 11 years. I constructed a table for this at
http://the-light.com/cal/kp_Easter11.html

While Easter often occurs on the same day after 11 years. It is rare for it to also occur on the same day for some year in between. It did so in 1988 between 1983 & 1994 on April 3 as listed below. It will happen again for the same Easter date in 2140 between 2135 & 2146. For April 1 Easter, I find 2863 between 2857 and 2868.

The second Easter of the Gregorian Calendar (in 1584) occurred on April 1, while the Julian calendar would not have one till 1621.

Another curiosity is that the latest possible Easter in the Coptic or Ethiopian calendar is the last day of a month.
