Dubious Easter Statistics

This email originated from outside ECU.

Dear Christoph and Calendar People

On the Calendar Wikia at

https://calendars.wikia.org/wiki/International_Easter_Calendar

I found some dubious statistics about the number of weeks between Easters. The epacts of the computus put severe restrictions on the number of weeks between Easters, to ensure lunar accuracy.

I believe the number of weeks between two consecutive Easters can only be 50, 51, 54, 55 weeks and possibly over a centurial year 56 weeks.

If you think any two consecutive Easters occur 49, 52 or 53 weeks apart, please show us an example.

Thank you, Karl, for noticing. I actually wanted to bring it up here first, but then went ahead and just published my findings as part of that Wikia page.

<https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcalendars.wikia.org%2Fwiki%2FInternational_Easter_Calendar&data=02%7C01%7Ccalndr-l%40listserv.ecu.edu%7Ce112e833beb4427cb60808d82c1d0be9%7C17143cbb385c4c45a36ac65b72e3eae8%7C1%7C0%7C637307850550534801&sdata=Uk6dwC0gJxiXH7GLIe8N%2FFBOBI7uPAU9kpNuCiI3ACY%3D&reserved=0>

I just checked my calculations and noticed a stupid little mistake:

- wrong: weeks in current year plus current Easter week minus next Easter week
- correct: weeks in current year minus current Easter week plus next Easter week

Dʼoh!

I now only find the following four distances:

- 50 weeks: 141
- 51 weeks: 237
- 54 weeks: 37
- 55 weeks: 184

I will update the calendar and its article soon.
